Sakthi (Shira Gaarg), after having separated from her husband, lives with her 6 years old daughter Adhithi (Baby Shrivarshini). In her apartmt, Adhithi starts hearing a voice calling her name, and is initially afraid. After celebrating her birthday, Adhithi finds a baby doll near her floor lift and again hears that voice which asks her to take the doll as her birthday gift and Adhithi starts developing a likess towards that voice and start seeing a ghostly figure to which she gets attached soon. On one night, Adhithi draws the ghostly figure in a piece of paper and writes her name as Anne. Wh Sakthi notices this drawing, she was bit worried and ev consults a psychiatrist who in-turn advises her to spd more time with her child.
Sakthi gets mtally disturbed wh one of her frid conveys her that Adhithi neither looks like Sakthi nor Siva (Manoj Bharathiraja), her husband. She goes for a DNA test with Adhithi and the test results turn to be negative - their DNA did not match with each other. Upset with this, she directly goes to her husband Siva's apartmt and demands to take her biological daughter Avanthika (Baby Sathanya) with her who was living with her father all these years.
After a hot discussion betwe the two, Siva reveals a flashback as follows: Wh Avanthika was born, she was tak to ICU unit as she had some respiratory problem. Siva with help of doctor gets another new born baby from another ward and places near Sakthi who was still asleep. He does this to protect Sakthi as she was mtally too weak to hear her own baby is suffering from respiratory problem. Later, wh his own baby recovers Siva tells the truth to Sakthi and gives back another baby to doctor. But this another baby seems to be child of Anne (Anjali Rao) who dies of post-delivery fit after she sees her baby was not prest wh she woke up from delivery pain. Siva on seeing this decides to take this baby also with him and replaces the baby again wh Sakthi was sleeping.

After hearing this story, Sakthi accepts both the childr as her own child now and couple also gets united and starts living in Sakthi's apartmt together. But things gets worse, wh Adhithi gets possessive towards Sakthi as she sees Sakthi getting more attached towards Avanthika. Ghostly figure now frights Avantika whever possible and makes her to feel insecure with her mother. On one fine day, Siva sees Anne as that ghostly figure and he immediately realizes Anne was haunting Avantika to have her own child Adhithi to be looked after by Sakthi. Wh he tells this to Sakthi, she didn't believe him and instead she thinks that Siva was planning to separate her own daughter again from her.
To avoid situation getting ev worse and to prevt his own daughter from Anne, he moves back to his old apartmt after hot argumt with Sakthi. Later, in her apartmt, Sakthi gets shocked suddly wh she sees Adhithi playing with Anne and takes Adhithi with her, driving away from her apartmt. She calls Siva and tells about what she had se in her apartmt. Siva suggests Sakthi to give Adhithi back to an orphanage to keep full stop to these activities by Anne. But Sakthi refuses this idea and drives away from Siva taking Adhithi with her. She also conveys to Siva on phone while driving her car that she has grown more attached towards Adhithi than Avanthika and she prefers to be with Adhithi forever. Anne who was hearing all these burst emotionally out of what she has done to this family.
But as fate could always have, Sakthi's car meets with an accidt which kills Adhithi and leaves Sakthi heavily wounded. The d credit of the film shows that Sakthi standing in front of lift with that doll in her hand. Siva consoles her and takes her back to her apartmt. Once they left the place, Adhithi peeps out and sees them walking.

They made a special nod to the film's child stars who, while lacked deliberation in their performance or dialogue delivery, looked comfortable in their characterizations complemted by the work of actress Shira Gaarg as the mother. However, they summarized that the film was A fairly gaging, template ghost tale with superb performances from the kids and good visuals.

Anand and Vaishnavi are neighours and high school studts, who live in a slum in Hyderabad. Anand dislikes his mother as she is mute and deaf although she loves him dearly. Vaishnavi has a crush on Anand, however, he does not acknowledge her until one day, wh she stands up to their teacher. Anand reciprocates her feelings, and they evtually start a relationship. Three years later, Anand drops out of Intermediate due to bad grades, while Vaishnavi goes on to join a prestigious gineering college. Anand resorts to driving an auto for a living.
Anand pawns his auto to buy a smartphone for Vaishnavi. However, he has a hard time repaying the loan. Vaishnavi on the other hand, has a hard time fitting in with the rich studts of her college. She befrids fellow studts, Viraj and Seetha, and tries her best to fit into their social circle. Viraj is attracted to Vaishnavi and Vaishnavi hides the fact that she in a relationship with Anand wh she is around them. amoured by the glitz and glamorous life of her new frids and angered by Anand's abusive attitude, Vaishnavi starts to become emotionally distant from Anand and closer to Viraj.
Seetha gets vious of Vaishnavi and sets out to ruin her life as she believes that Vaishnavi is from the lower class and does not deserve Viraj's atttion. One day, Vaishnavi goes to a party along with her college frids. In an inebriated state, she kisses Viraj, which is captured on video. She tries to rectify her mistake, but Viraj continues to pursue her and asks her to marry him. Wh she rejects him angrily, he threats to disclose their kissing video. Using these situations to her advantage, Seetha manipulates both Vaishnavi and Viraj against each other. In an attempt to get rid of Viraj, Vaishnavi sleeps with him. The next day, she consumes alcohol to forget the pain and discloses the same to Seetha, which is recorded by Anand's frid Harsha on his phone secretly. Seetha shares the kissing video with Harsha, who in turn, shares Vaishnavi's confession recording with Anand.

Anand comes to know about everything that has be going on betwe Vaishnavi and Viraj, and Viraj comes to know that Vaishnavi has a boyfrid. Wh confronted publicly by both Viraj and Anand, Vaishnavi attempts suicide. Anand and Viraj are both arrested, but are evtually released on bail. Vaishnavi is also released from the hospital. Anand realises his mistake and decides to apologise to his mother, but it becomes too late as she passes away that night, causing Anand to slip into depression. Vaishnavi tries to apologize to an emotionally disturbed Anand, who is unable to forgive her. He begs her to leave him alone and she obliges.
Anand becomes an alcoholic. After a few months, he notices Vaishnavi's wedding photo while picking up a passger. Vaishnavi and her husband are about to leave their home. Vaishnavi and Anand exchange a brief glance as Anand drives away from her house in tears. The film ds with an emotional Vaishnavi tearing up, but choosing not to cry in the presce of her husband and family.
Baby was released theatrically on 14 July 2023. The post-theatrical streaming rights were acquired by Aha and was premiered on 25 August 2023.
